Chanel Suit 1983 Karl Largerfeld's First Collection for the House of Chanel
Chanel red boucle suit designed by Karl Lagerfeld in 1983. This was his first collection for the House of Chanel, and I have included photographs of a book which features this very suit. The suit has double breasted jacket with two rows of buttons at the front as well as four pockets. There are also a set of three buttons on each of the cuffs, unfortunately five out of six of the buttons are missing the gilt inserts (this is shown in two of the pictures. Buttons can be bought on line or brought to a Chanel store for replacement). There is also the iconic chain to weight down the hem.
The matching skirt has a double stitched false slit which is open at the bottom.
I am declaring this suit in good condition because of the buttons, but it is in fact in great vintage condition. The price reflects this.
